An automotive technician works with cars to maintain service operations and keep them running properly. They must also comply with state requirements for registering and maintaining vehicles by testing combustion control, safety, and engine function, and making sure all components meet control standards.On a typical day, tasks might include:
• Performing tests on various vehicle components
• Handling preventive maintenance including oil changes, wheel balancing, tire rotation, and engine tune-ups
• Removing or installing filters and replacing tires.
