SAP EWM/Basis Administrator

Welcome to the IT Department at PC Richard and Son! We’re seeking a talented and motivated SAP EWM / Basis Administrator to join our IT team. This role is critical in supporting and optimizing our SAP landscape, with a particular emphasis on Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and Basis administration. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in SAP system administration, performance tuning, upgrades, and migrations. This is a key technical role requiring a balance of deep SAP technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support SAP systems including EWM, S/4HANA, PI/PO, Solution Manager, Fiori, and associated components.
  • Manage and maintain system performance, backups, tuning, transport management, and upgrades.
  • Lead or support SAP EWM-related initiatives, including configuration, troubleshooting, and integrations with other SAP modules.
  • Perform SAP installations, support package implementations, kernel updates, and system refreshes across both ABAP and Java stacks.
  • Monitor and optimize HANA including troubleshooting performance issues.
  • Design and implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions for SAP systems.
  • Ensure security compliance, manage user authorizations, and maintain audit readiness.
  • Design and implement security roles and authorizations based on IT and business requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with functional teams, developers, infrastructure, and vendors to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
  • Document SOPs, technical runbooks, and support knowledge transfer within the team.

Job Requirements:

  • 7+ years of hands-on SAP Basis administration experience.
  • 3+ years working with SAP EWM, including integration with S/4HANA.
  • Strong experience with SAP HANA database administration and troubleshooting.
  • Deep understanding of Solution Manager, including ChaRM, monitoring, and EarlyWatch Alerts.
  • Experience in system copies, client copies, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting cross-system issues.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Ansible a strong plus.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; SAP certifications preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with SAP Integration Suite or Edge Services.
  • Familiarity with PI/PO.
  • Experience in security hardening.
  • Scripting knowledge (Shell, Python, PowerShell) for automation and administration tasks.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
  • Proactive, able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as on a team .
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and technologies.
  • Great organizational skills, and can manage a heavy and fast-changing workload.
  • Strong written skills, and experience writing technical documents for IT peers and for end-users.
  • Available to work weekends and after-hours on occasion as needed.
